Duties
and responsibilities:
The
Medical Officer works under the supervision of
the Assistant Chief and is directly
responsible for all aspects of Emergency
Medical Services (EMS) for FMBFCD. The Medical
Officer monitors the daily activities,
coordinates and manages staff, leads the
planning, development and implementation of
policies and programs for EMS and heads the
District’s Hurricane Committee. The Medical
Officer establishes organizational goals;
evaluates programs to ensure effectiveness and
continually seeks process improvement. Daily
duties include maintaining liaisons with other
county departments, logistics, develop
strategic plans for the department to meet
current and future community EMS needs, and
demonstrates extensive knowledge of EMS
practices and procedures.
